And Cameron wanted Gabrielle.
And Marla wanted Braden.
And Cole wanted Gabrielle.
And Mrs. Mason wanted Braden.
And an anonymous letter writer wanted to keep Gabrielle and Braden apart.
Together Gabrielle and Braden discovered many important things, like which doors at the courthouse actually locked, and that desks could be useful for more than writing. They also found out that the path of love was not always smooth, and it was sometimes trod upon by some really wacky people, like a confused fanny grabber, an eighty-two year old pothead and a gentleman who threw a wine and cheese party in his pants. Could true love overcome a lack of privacy, interference by jealous rivals and the insanity of the criminal court system?

About the Author

Once upon a time ... N.M. Silber was a criminal defense attorney who got up each morning, donned her power suit and sensible pumps, downed a gallon of coffee and set out to "fight the good fight" while trying to not go insane. Having a dark sense of humor and a sarcastic wit helped -- a lot. Another thing that helped was reading. As escapism was the goal, she liked to read romance novels, especially really funny ones and really sexy ones. Then one day something beautiful happened -- she read one that was both funny and sexy at the same time. She hung up her power suit, put away her sensible pumps, and moved her coffee mug to her computer. Now she writes funny and smutty romance novels herself and she lives happily ever after.

Jasmine's Review

The law of attraction was actually the first book I read this year. And it was TOTALLY WORTH IT! These are the kind of books that you would never get tired of. I could read these books over and over and still find them as hilarious as the first time if not more. Usually I like dual POVs but for this book I was able to appreciate it even more because it is only in Gabrielle's POV. And let me tell you, she is one of the most awkward, clumsy, and hilarious person I have ever met (fictional and nonfictional). And if you don't know, which you probably don't, I LOVE AWKWARD, CLUMSY, AND HILARIOUS PEOPLE! I also love that the other characters are pairing off!! I just love it when that happens. As you can see I am overusing the word love because this is the only way I can explain this series, I JUST LOVE IT! One of my favorite things about this series is the stupid cases they get. There should be a movie made on cases that are mentioned in the book. Anyway, I am absolutely out of words I'm just laughing my ass off. Also, there is an added mystery that just makes you keep on reading! In other words it is just PERFECTO!

5 Gravels? (Is that what you call the hammer thingy in court?):D

FYI gravel is just a bunch of tiny rocks and when you search "hammer thing used in court" that picture comes out.:)

[Blog Tour - Review] This Girl Stripped ~ Dawn Robertson

My innocence was shattered one steamy October night, when I sold my soul to the devil to pay for a week in a dirty motel room.
Thinking I could rid myself of him, I fled the safety of the nomad lifestyle I had embraced my entire life for the security of a small upstate New York town, alongside my big sister Star.

What I never anticipated was a green eyed stranger that would steal my heart and never look back. And a dark eyed man on a motorcycle, who would teach me how to trust again. Both of them completely shattering every wall I ever put up to keep men out of my vulnerable world.

I am Paisley Bloom, and this is my devastating story.

Jasmine's Review
The things I love and hate in this book is kinda equal. More on the good side though. One thing you should know (or not) is that I have only read the first book Hers. So I don't really know what happend with the other characters.

Anyway! The things like first. Softens the things I don't like about this book.:)
- Paisley is a strong character. I just adore strong characters. It didn't take her FOREVER to get over her problems. She just took life's shit and threw it right back.
- I had no idea who she would end up with. River or Diesel. I'm just happy that she did end up with HIM (I won't tell you who! Just read it).
- The story didn't take forever. It didn't dwell on the months after the rape. It didn't go into detail about how sad she was and how depressed she was. Like New Moon <- that is the most boring book I have ever finished seriously. (NO OFFENSE TO NEW MOON LOVERS)

Now onto the things I didn't like.
- The Triangle. This is probably my fault since i didn't read the summary well. But I hate triangles. This is just for me a lot of people love triangles and you might too.:) I just hate all the drama in triangles. But this really didn't have any angst so it's kinda a neutral thing. I guess? (Darn I suck at this!)
- How quickly she was able to have sex again. I'm not sure how this works since I don't know any rape victims but I am pretty sure there is gonna be a trauma. I don't think it would be that easy for a victim to allow the self to be touched again, but it might just depend on what kind of person you are. But as I said Paisley is a really a strong girl.
- I didn't really feel the connection between the characters. Between Paisley and River, and Paisely and Diesel. I just didn't feel the fire? Spark? Whatever you call it. If the story was a little bit longer then Dawn could have shown more of their connection is what I think. But what I think doesn't matter so READ IT!

As y'all can see the things I didn't like is really useless and has nothing to do much with the story but more on my opinion. So try it and read it. You might just like it.:)

3.5 Stripper Pole ( It looks just like a normal pole.) :D

About Dawn:

Dawn Robertson is a twenty-something indie erotic romance, and mother.  She lives in sunny senior citizen packed Florida, where she wrangles her kids, and Pitbull puppy.
Dawn can normally be found swearing like a sailor, making late night drive-thru appearances, arguing with her kids (or being run over by their power wheels),  reading a steamy romance while hiding in her bathroom, writing her little heart out on her laptop (or dragging her Macbook to the Genius bar praying they can save her latest work in progress), or sipping on a smoothie. She loves to hear from her fans, readers, and authors alike. Feel free to drop her a message.
Dawn rarely takes life seriously, so be sure to expect heavy sarcasm from her. She is also the life of the party, so be sure to meet up with her at one of the many author events she will be attending in the next couple months. Buy her a shot of whiskey, and she will love you for life.

[Blog Tour - Review & Giveaway] Yes, Master ~ Margaret McHeyer

My uncle abused me.

I was 10 years old when it started.

At 13 he told me I was no longer wanted because I had started to develop.

At 16 I was ready to kill him.

Today, I’m broken.

Today, I only breathe to survive.

My name’s Sergeant Major Ryan Jenkins and today, I’m ready to tell you my story.

“Master would flog me if I did, she won’t be happy when I tell her what happened here.”

“Master?”

“Stella.”

Oh, Master.

20140225-162431.jpg

image

I startle awake as I leap off the bed and sprawl on the floor.

“Ry!” Mason yells from the other side of the door. I jump up off the floor and swing the bedroom door open.

“You scared the shit out of me, Mason.” I run my hand over my eyes and face trying to wake up. “What do you want, man?” But I’m met with silence. When I look over at Mase, he’s staring at my body. He’s mouth’s open and his eyes are so wide. He rakes his stare down my body, then back up again. He lifts an eyebrow as he ogles me. I look down and notice I’m completely naked. I fell asleep on my bed with just the towel wrapped around me and he scared me with his bashing that now I’m standing before him totally exposed.

He’s not moving away, and neither am I.

“Mason.” I lower my voice as he looks up at me and just stares.

He can see straight through me, totally bare and open, for him to see all my secrets.

“We need to leave in an hour,” Mase says as he takes a step closer to me.

I can feel his heat, and my body instantly reacts to him.

Don’t be a coward Ryan, just reach out and touch him.

His brown eyes turn from a hard brown into a molten chocolate as we stand a mere step apart from each other.

Our breathing is labored and rapid.

Mason reaches forward and brings his hand up to my chest, but before he touches me, his demeanor changes and he retracts it, dropping it beside his body.

“I can’t,” he whispers as he turns away from me and goes into his bedroom.

My head spins as I close my door and stand completely ashamed in my room.

He doesn’t want me.

Why would he?

I’m broken.

I don't do 'normal'.

I've found that the more I write, the more I like being different to other authors. I write in first person, and I love to challenge a reader.
I take the normal and switch it around.
For me, I really enjoy getting a reaction from a reader. So if I can evoke an emotion (regardless of if it's the emotion the reader wants) then I figure that I've done my job as an author I want to be.
I really quite revel in taking people out of their comfort zones and pushing them to read something different.
My genre of writing is, well quite frankly, where ever my mind goes. I won't label myself because I don't like sticking to one genre.
My goal with writing is just to take people away from whatever is going on in their lives, even if it's only for a split second.
I'm a go with the flow sort of person and don't really take a course of action to get where I am going. I live in the moment and don't usually worry about tomorrow because whatever life is due to bring me, I'll be happy to accept.
I love my family and friends and will help anyway I can if someone needs it. I really don't like people that are nasty just because they can be, I don't believe that's necessary, I mean life's hard enough as it is!
I hope you enjoy my books, I've had a hoot writing them. There's more to come.....
Til next time.

Jasmine's Review

So this was Hot, Intense, and Dark! Haven't read a book like that in a while... A loooong while.

Just so you know I do not like BDSM, AT ALL!! So I never finished Fifty Shades. Don't hate!!!!:) I'm sure I'm not the only one. Anyway, this does contain BDSM but there are reasons why I was able to tolerate it. Which I will state, now.:)

Reasons:

1. There was not a lot of pain. Pain hurts. Whether it's real or fictional. IT HURTS so I don't like it happening to anyone.
2. His submission to Stella was his way of dealing with the pain. He did not join that lifestyle because he liked her and that was what she wanted but because he thought it was the way to save himself from his past. So in other words he did not join that lifestyle for her but for himself.
3. Stella was the Dom. I prefer a female Dom over a male Dom. Because if it becomes too much the dude can stop it.

Those are pretty much the reasons why I also like the book.:)

Ryan has been through a lot in the past with his uncle and all. And that's why he is broken inside. Like REALLY broken inside. He doesn't know himself anymore and it is killing him. Literally, he drinks too much. I do really like his daughter. Sweet little Lani.:)

This story focuses more on Ryan and less on the problems with the other characters. Which seriously makes me curious... A lot. Like how did Stella start that lifestyle? Or what is wrong with Mason?

I read Margaret's other books so I was actually expecting a sudden twist in the end so when there wasn't I was surprised. So either way, Mrs. Margaret McHeyzer, you did it again! You gave the unexpected.

Synopsis:

All publicity is good publicity, right? Unless you’re recent college grad Ellie Wagner and an embarrassing video of you and your boyfriend goes viral. AUTHOR BIO

I have a soft spot for romance novels with happily ever afters and a HOT spot for alpha males! I currently live outside Toronto, Canada with my hubby, two small children and cat spawned by the devil. Life is busy, but never to busy for a good story and to share my love of reading and writing with others. Things I can tell you that sum me up...I'm a sugar and carb addict, self-professed Gandy Girl, a disaster in the kitchen, a LOVER of all music, I enjoy reality TV and I'm an early riser! When I have a moment to breath you can usually find me typing furiously on the keyboard to get my next story on paper, or curled up reading about someone else's HEA. The second book in my Limelight series, Picture Perfect, is set to release at the end of March 2014.

Jasmine's Review

I actually really liked this book. When I started it I couldn't put it down!!! I could have read it in one go but I had school the next day.

I'm actually not much of a fan of books with celebrity as one of the characters. Yes I know SHOCKER! So I'm pretty sure your wondering now why on earth I would join if I don't like books with celebrities. The answer is pretty simple. THE *drum roll please!* COVER. I know don't judge a book by its cover and all that. But I'm a really simple person and shallow person I admit it!!:)

But it worked just fine in this book. Cause I LOVE IT!

Ellie Wagner is cool. She kind, sweet and all that perfect girl in the inside and hot girl in the outside. She's also independent, kinda insecure but not at the same time.

But MASON NASH is one hot man! *fangirl!!!!!* The way he treats his siblings are just too cute too bad we didn't see a lot of them though. He has ABS!!! Who doesn't like a hot man with abs??? NO ONE! He is also a singer or hip hopper or whatever you call it. That's like plus 100 points on his hotness and he has .... wait for it.... DIMPLES!!!! I think that's just too much for one man. I would love to have even just a little part of him.:D

Another thing aside from Mason that I really love in this book is the way the author focused more on the present rather than all the problems from the past suddenly coming out of nowhere. I love that she didn't keep on writing about how their parents were so sucky and all that and have them keep on fighting their parents and hating them. And all that stuff in the past that ruined them and made them broken and all that.

One thing that I didn't like about this book is that it only focused on those two. There were a lot of scenes with Ellie's friends and I just felt that Ellie was really that good of a friend. I also wanted to know more about the other characters of the book and not just two of them.

Overall it is a really great read!

4.5 Hip Hop dudes.
What do you even call them??

So that's what they look like!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Author PicI'm a thirty-two-year-old female author living in Seattle, Washington. I'm married to the love of my life and have been for ten years. I come from Coos Bay, Oregon and moved to Seattle six years ago. I love it here and don't see us going anywhere anytime soon.

I've been heavily influenced by contemporary writers like J.K. Rowling, Mary Balogh, Christina Dodd, Stephanie Laurens, Laurell K. Hamilton, Anne Rice, Stephen King, and many many others. Indie authors who've influenced me (and these are just a few) are Jasinda Wilder, Michelle Hughes, Kristin Flynn, Katie Mac, Dawn Robertson, Ada Slow, Melissa Brodky, Brandelyn Harris, Brandy Dorsch, and Brandy Jellum.

 Jasmine's Review

I have no idea how to start this review. I really liked this book I couldn't put it down at all! I read it in like 2 hours from cover to cover without stopping. Instead of doing homework... This is what I ended up doing. But it was sooo worth it!

Carmen a previous ballerina was abducted after one of her shows. Then ever since she has stopped talking. I personally really like Carmen, her hard exterior and soft interior. She is really tough but she cries more than an average person would.

Jacob feels like a really creepy doctor. He seems like a really good doctor at the start but throughout the course of the book it feels like he should be the patient instead. But he does admit he's emotionally broken so I'm cool. Jacob is a really great guy but when he's drunk he seems kind a sleazy (I'm not really sure what that word means but it feels like the right word.)

This book isn't just a romance book with an emotionally damaged girl but it's also a mystery or thriller (genres confuse me). And it was really exciting I didn't know who's who and it made me read more.

I do have ONE problem with this book. They're love came out of no where like they had sex then bam I LOVE YOU. The thing is it was only supposed to be like a one night stand but it seriously had no basis whatsoever. If this was improved it could have been a 5 star.

[Blog Tour - Review & Top 5] Masquerade ~ Nyrae Dawn

A biker. A tattoo artist. A love to last a lifetime.
Maddox Cross has always had to be tough. When his father went to jail for murder, the teenager took care of his sister and mother. Now on his own and working security at a night club, Maddox wants to become a tattoo artist-a dream that comes closer to reality when he falls for the hottest, most tatted woman he's ever seen. She's wild and beautiful, and Maddox will do anything to be with her.

Bee Malone came to town to open up her new tattoo parlor, Masquerade. Since being kidnapped as a young girl, Bee has had trouble getting close to anyone. But when she meets Maddox, she sees that under his hard biker's body is the sensitive soul of an artist. What starts out as a sizzling one-night stand soon becomes so much more.

Bee wants Maddox to join her tattoo business, but letting him into her life means revealing all her most intimate secrets. And as the past begins to intertwine with her present, Bee fears their love may not be as permanent as their ink . . .

Top 5 Favorite Tats
AWESOME question. I have a tattoo of a quill with the quote “It’s never too late to be what you might have been” which I got for my writing. That will always be one of my favorites.
I am a fan of quotes so I like a lot of quote tattoos.
I like the tattoo Bee gets in MASQUERADE because it’s a tattoo that really means something to her.
I just think a tattoo should be from the heart. Something that has a meaning for person. That’s what makes it special so any tattoo like that is incredible in my book.

Jasmine's Review

Masquerade is one of the best book I have ever read. Even if the spelling is really hard. Yes, I have spelling problems I get most of the correct spellings from autocorrect.:) I don't know what I'll do without autocorrect. Anyway!! Back to the topic. This book really touched me. I don't know why, but it did. I just couldn't put this book down even if I still have tons of HW (26 pages). I just read for the whole day, I literally couldn't make myself put it down, I had to hide in the bathroom for like an hour to avoid getting caught.

Bee is a really cool chic. It seems that recently I have taken a liking to tattoo artists. Anyway who chooses what they should be called is really awesome. If I could choose my name I'd name myself Sky (it may or may not have anything to do with Sky from Hopeless.)

Anyway, let's talk about Bee. Her background is really complicated which makes her views on love, well, complicated too. (Read the book so you'll know why it's she has a complicated background.) She doesn't really understand what love is and that's why she doesn't love anyone back. It's not like she never received love, in fact she received a lot but because of her said complicated background, it messed with her views on love.

Aside form all that serious stuff. She's seriously cool, she stands up for herself. She knows what she wants. And she doesn't let anyone talk shit to her.

Maddox is a really hot guy, just look at the cover! Anyway, he runs away from EvERYTHING! The ones he love and hates. I can totally relate to that though I just usually run from the ones I hate, like tutor. Anyway he holds this really big guilt over his fathers sin and because of that guilt I think he feels like he deserves not having the thing he loves which is Tattoos. I think a lot of people can relate to that guilt. Or maybe not.

This book had A LOT of denying between the two characters and I'm just really happy they had their HEA. I also want to ride Maddox's motorcycle (not the dirty kind).:)

Overall, one of the best books I have read. Tears were falling from my eyes at the ending and all the words got kinda blurry. And I love it!! Crying is good once in a while. And it seems that I can only cry over fictional characters.:)

[Blog Tour - Review & Giveaway] Vendetta ~ Autumn Karr & Sienna Lane

Please note: this is not dark romance.

I am not a good man.

I have lied and cheated and stolen. I've decided between life or death, like it was my due. None of it matters, not anymore. These are not my sins.

I see her raise her hands, the dark metal she's clutching reflecting the moonlight. Her finger trembles as she cocks the gun pointed at me. Her eyes are cold, determined, but I know.

I know her.

My name is Devon Andre and I confess my sin. I am not a good man because this is the woman I love.

She pulls the trigger.

* Standalone contemporary romance.

* Mature reader advised due to sexual content and strong language.

Jasmine's Review

This book was totally worth being the last book that I read for the year 2013. I have found this book a long time ago and the blurb totally got me hooked. So once again I begged to joined the Blog Tour and since the authors were really nice, they allowed me to join!!

In this book, I expected one thing to happen but a totally different thing happened. I thought this person was actually like this but actually they are like that. In other words there is sooo much things that I never expected that happened and people that I thought they could trust but actually they can't! And the person that I thought was a bad guy actually wasn't!!

This book grabbed my undivided attention and I was able to finish it in one sitting!! I didn't think that I would finish this book before New Year's Eve but I did!! (BTW totally unrelated to this book but our fireworks were awesome!)

Devonians Leighton are pretty cool even if their backstory was kinda confusing. Like the me eating but not meeting kinda thing didn't really get it. But they were pretty cool.

Author: Amy Gregory

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Publication Date: September 30, 2013

Cover Designed By: Davis Snodgrass

Event organized by: Literati Author Services, Inc.

Detective Mike Sterling walked away from his dream job telling himself it was to honor the promise he’d made his mother, while lying in a Chicago emergency room. A year later, he’s still fighting the demons that followed him back to his boyhood town.

Taryn Watts is an award-winning designer, going from project to project, living from a suitcase. Her plan for Renlend Kansas was the same as always. Go in, get the job done and get out, just the way she likes it. Growing up as a cop’s daughter, her every move was controlled. When she escaped to college she vowed to never fall in love with a cop –ever. Until she found herself sitting across from the ruggedly handsome stranger. Looking into Mike’s ice blue eyes they pulled her, called to her, but there was a haunting in them she knew too well.

Mike is drawn to Taryn, her passion for her work and her stunning beauty left him breathless, but what surprises him most is the peace he feels when he’s near her. Maybe it’s because Taryn is a temporary addition to his town and his secret is safe, or maybe it’s because she makes him feel safe. Mike knows he can’t keep up this charade and when Taryn moves to Renlend for an extended stay he can’t hide the truth any longer.

Can Taryn forget he’s a cop and give him her heart, or will his demons drive them apart?

About the Author

When asked ‘when do you have time to write’, Amy Gregory simply laughs. The real answer is, “in bits and pieces”. She and her husband live in Kansas City with their three fantastic kids that keep them running in three very different directions. Because she sits so much, she always carries a notebook with her at all times.

She has an off the wall, snarky, off the cuff sense of humor that often shocks even those who’ve known her for years. And she loves that her children have all been blessed that ability to make others laugh as well. At least she’s grateful most of the time! Her husband often teases her about how she “makes this stuff up” when he’s reading a piece of her work. … The answer—“it just comes to me when I’m typing”. Scary thought, huh!

Jasmine's Review

Likes:
- Taryn ( Her personality)
- Andrew and Scott ( they're just awesome friends really freaking awesome!)

Dislikes:
-Cover (It looks cheap, no offense)
- Don't really get Taryns BIG BIG problem with her family. I don't understand why she feels like she has such a horrible past.

Mikes okay. Don't love him but don't hate him either.

There really isn't much to say bout this book. It's so-so.

[Review] Into The Storm ~ Melanie Moreland

She is a woman on the run. Pain, loneliness and terror are what she is leaving. Where she is headed doesn’t matter as long as it’s away from the hell her life has become.

Joshua Bennett is trapped in a prison of his own making by the memories of his past. Traumatized and isolated, he is a reclusive writer, living a quiet, lonely life, his only companion his dog, Bear. It is what he knows, what he has accepted to be his life.

One dark night, one huge storm, and one ice patch brings them together. He finds himself with an unexpected houseguest with no memory. She wakes up a stranger to herself and the man watching her. Even more mysterious is the lack of any sort of identification with her or in her car. She is an enigma to both of them.

Trapped by the storm and isolated from the outside world, they slowly open up, learning to trust and love, until the world once again shows up, threatening the fragile peace of their newly discovered world, and tearing them apart.

There are many twists and turns as they struggle to find each other, overcoming both the mental and physical elements that keep them apart.

A story about overcoming our fears, finding love and learning to live again.

Jasmine's Review

This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review.

Got an ARC copy of this book but wasn't able to read it before the publish date.

This book is freakishly loooooong. I felt like it would never end! Not that it was a bad thing. Just saying that it was really long. At around 20% I seriously thought it was about to end already but when I saw the page thing at the bottom of kindle I was like no way!

Joshua is a writer of mystery. He also has a trauma of the outside world or something like that after being brutally  attacked outside his apartment. That attack almost made him lose his legs I would totally be traumatized too.

One winter night he found  Elizabeth a.k.a. Rabbit (love the nickname) crashed into a tree in the woods (his lawn I think). After bringing her home he found that she was badly beaten up (by her husband) but they don't know that since she lost her memories.

At that time the snow was really hard so they weren't able to go out much. And in that time they developed a relationship and blah blah blah. I think I might spoil the book if I say anymore.:) just read this never ending story,:)

This book was supposed to be reviewed by my co-bloggers but they didn't like it. So I gave it a try and it was good. Not freakishly awesome but good enough. It just seemed really interesting the way Joshua slowly fell for Rabbit (seriously that is really cute).

Brian (Rabbit's abusive husband) yah. I hate him. Even after he told her the reason in the end. The reason was a really nice twist!!:)

Overall this wasn't so bad unless you have something against people who get amnesia.:)

3 rabbits
You know why rabbits.
