[Blog Tour - ARC Review & Giveaway] Rome ~ Jay Crownover

Rome (Marked Men #3)
Genre:  New Adult
Publication Date:  January 7, 2014

Cora Lewis is a whole lot of fun, and she knows how to keep her tattooed bad boy friends in line. But all that flash and sass hide the fact that she’s never gotten over the way her first love broke her heart. Now she has a plan to make sure that never happens again: She’s only going to fall in love with someone perfect.
Rome Archer is as far from perfect as a man can be. He’s stubborn and rigid, he’s bossy and has come back from his final tour of duty fundamentally broken. Rome’s used to filling a role: big brother, doting son, super soldier; and now none of these fit anymore. Now he’s just a man trying to figure out what to do with the rest of his life while keeping the demons of war and loss at bay. He would have been glad to suffer it alone, until Cora comes sweeping into his life and becomes the only color on his bleak horizon.
Perfect isn’t in the cards for these two, but imperfect might just last forever . . .

About the Author
I’m supposed to share interesting details about myself so that my readers get to know me so here we go in no particular order: I’m an natural redhead even though I haven’t seen my real hair color in years, I’m a big fan of tattoos and have a half sleeve on either arm and various other pieces all over the place, I’ve been in the bar industry since I was in college and it has always offered interesting insight into how men and women interact with each other, I have 3 dogs that are all crazy, I live in Colorado and love the snow, I love music and in all reality wish I could be a rock star not a writer or a bartender but I have zero talent so there is that.
I love to write, love to read and all I’m interested in is a good story with interesting characters that make the reader feel something.

Jasmine's Review

I completely just adore this book. I FREAKING LOVE it!! I haven't read the first two books yet, but I'm totally going to.

And luckily I also won an ARC paperback of this book so double yay!

Cora, I just love her personality. There's just sooo much sass and kick-assness (Is there such a word??) in that tiny body of hers. She could stand up to pretty much anybody. And when she poured that beer over Rome's head, THAT totally sold this book to me.

But underneath all that badass personality, she is mending a broken heart. From her asshole of an ex that cheated on her. And that's why she's looking for Mr. Perfect (don't we all?).

Rome is far from Mr. Perfect. He's a broken man. The war has left him with him with wounds that will last for eternity. But he is one REALLY REALLY hot man.

The same night that Cora poured the beer over his head he found the Bar and met Brite. I love that old man even if he is scary at times. He took good care of Rome. Anyway, Rome started working there to pay off his debts after destroying the bar when he got into a fight with a biker gang.

The morning after Rome stayed over at Cora (after one drunk night and they just slept) and they were about to have sex, Cora was like, "That's never going to fit." THAT sold the book to me AGAIN. So I totally LOOOVE this book and Rome's name. Seriously, Rome Archer is one hot name.

One other thing I like about Cora and Rome was that it didn't take them FOREVER to get together. Because usually when characters only get together at the last chapter, it pisses me off.  Well, what more can I say? (Probably a lot of more useful information.. But I suck at those.) All you have to know is that I LOVE THIS BOOK!!

5 Dog Tags
(I'm too lazy too put a lot of Dog Tags so I just added a hot guy)
Hot guy counts for 4 + the dog tag = 5

[ARC Review] Behind His Lens ~ R.S. Grey

Publication Date: December 22, 2013

Twenty-three year old model Charley Whitlock built a quiet life for herself after disaster struck four years ago. She hides beneath her beautiful mask, never revealing her true self to the world... until she comes face-to-face with her new photographer — sexy, possessive Jude Anderson. It's clear from the first time she meets him that she's playing by his rules. He says jump, she asks how high. He tells her to unzip her cream Dior gown; she knows she has to comply. But what if she wants him to take charge outside of the studio as well?

Jude Anderson has a strict "no model" dating policy. But everything about Charley sets his body on fire.

When a tropical photo shoot in Hawaii forces the stubborn pair into sexually charged situations, their chemistry can no longer be ignored. They’ll have to decide if they’re willing to break their rules and leave the past behind or if they’ll stay consumed by their demons forever.

Will Jude persuade Charley to give in to her deepest desires?

**Recommended for ages 17+ due to language and sexual situations.**

Jasmine's Review

I received/begged for an ARC copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

I seriously LOVE this book. This couple is one of my favorite pair ever. They're just perfect for each other. I don't know why but I just felt that they were really made for each other.

Jude, OMG this boy is just HOT HOT HOT! That football scene with all those drool worthy sweaty players. Freaking hot!! ALL OF THEM. Especially Jude.

Imagine 10 of them. TEN! DROOL!!!

One thing I love about Jude is that when he figured out he had feelings for Charley, he didn't run away. He didn't do stupid things to make her hate him. And the secrets he kept didn't make him run away... much.

This is how I imagine Bennett

Bennett, Jude's best friend, reminded me of Barney from How I Met Your Mother. With his suits and all. I would really like a book on him and Naomi.

Charley (I just really love that name) way better than Clarissa or whatever her really name is. She is a model, but she doesn't model for fame but only for money. She loves her privacy and painting and I liked that about her.

This couple is really one of the best that I have ever read. It's just one of those things I don't know how to explain.

One thing I don't like about this book is that the ending is too short. I really love HEA (Happily Ever Afters) so I wanted to read more on what happened after they faced their own demons. Especially since I really love them. I want more of them that it's really bothering me. But other than that I love it.:D

5 Cameras Lens!
With Jude being a photographer and all.

[ARC Review] Beautiful Failure ~ Mariah Cole

Release Day: December 17,2013
**NEW ADULT**

If you're looking for a heartwarming story about a girl who falls deeply in love with a troubled boy who changes her life--a sob story with pretty metaphors and a million ways that'll tell you how "broken" she is, STOP. Don't read another word of this.

I'm not that type of girl.

My name is Emerald Anderson and I'm not going to bullshit you: I flunked out of college after my sophomore year, I've been fired from every job I've ever taken, and I've never had a fully functioning relationship in my life.

I wish I could say that I had a cheerleader in my corner, someone who says, "No, Emerald--You're great and you are good at something!" but I don't. My grandparents are completely oblivious to my life, and my mother's dying words to me were "You're going to end up just like me one day. A beautiful nothing."

She was right.

As I decide to start my life over and take two jobs that will forever change me--one from the inside, and one from the outside, I keep my mother's words close to my heart so I can keep the sexy and mysterious Carter Black away.

He's the first man who's ever pursued me, the first man who seems bent on finding out why I am the way I am, but he's wasting his time.

I'm not broken. I don't need to be fixed. I'm perfectly fine being a beautiful failure...

Jasmine's Review:
I got an ARC for this book from the author.

I may have stalked and begged for an arc of this book after reading an excerpt somewhere. I just had to get my hands on this book. That excerpt alone almost made me cry.

Once I started reading this book, I couldn't put it down! This is probably one of the best reads I had this year. I would probably reread it and I don't reread books much.

Emerald has a seriously messed up life. Oh, and don't ever call her Em or she'll rip your head off. Anyway, you know what I really like about her? It's just that she just sucks up everything life has thrown her way. With a big little help of alcohol.

She had so many faults like she couldn't keep a job for more than 2 weeks (except for the one in Phoenix) she's an alcoholic. Even if she didn't want to admit it. She's a college drop out. But I think those faults are the one made her so interesting. It made her so bad ass for me.

I love badass female characters. They are so much better than depressed characters that have so much self - pity for themselves and blah blah blah.

I'm actually quite speechless about this book. I just love it. The flow was good love the characters especially Carter. A new addition to the list of my book boyfriends.

Carter is Emerald's not Prince Charming. And he's MY Prince Charming. My gosh he's just so hot, sweet, sexy. Just PERFECT! I love that he made her wait and didn't just bang her. We didn't really get to know him too we'll in this book though. Maybe in the next book. Seriously?? Where is the next freaking book??

YES! I shall be right here next book!!!

5 freaking awesome shots

Yes I may have a new addiction for gifs.:)

[ARC Review] Elect ~ Rachel Van Dyken

Elect (Eagle Elite #2)
Publication date: December 10, 2013

Would you die for the one you love?

Nixon Abandonato made his choice. And now he has to pay the price. Tracey is the love of his life, but being with him has made her a target of his family's enemies. The only way to keep Trace alive is convince the world she means nothing to him.

Trace Rooks has fallen irrevocably in love with the son of her family's sworn rival, and she knows in her bones nothing can tear them apart. Until Nix suddenly pushes her away and into the arms of his best friend... But Trace isn't ready to give up on a future with Nix--and if he won't fight for them, she will.

In the end, a sacrifice must be made. A life for a life. For what better way to cover a multitude of sins than with the blood of a sinner . . .

Jasmine's Review:

Got this book from the publisher via Net Galley

I'm usually not a fan of triangles because most of them aren't greatly written, but this book is just amazing! Usually in love triangles the guys are total opposites, the good boy and the bad boy. But in the book, they're both bad boys, so the same yet so different. Besides two bad boys are sooo much better.

Starting this book, I was confused 'cause. I didn't expect two guys POV. I was like I'm pretty sure the summary was about a guy and a girl. It took my quite a while to figure it out. IKR. I'm soooo slow.

I've been reading lotsa mafia books lately, and I just love them! But I really love this book , especially Nixon. He has perfected the mixture of bad boy with that sensitive side. He has become one of my many book boyfriends.:)
I CALL DIBS!!!!

This story has a lot of twists and turns. Secrets I never expected and I just love not knowing what's gonna happen. Everything is just greatly written!

The ending! OMG! Love the ending!! Can't wait for the next book!! It's kinda a cliffy but not horrible cliffy. More like OMG! Where's the next freaking page?? Just love the way it ended. I usually hate endings but this is just awesome!!!

Now I gotta look for the first book 'cause I haven't read it yet. I only knew that this was the second book after I finished reading it.:)

5 cows
'Cause Tracey loved cows.:D

Review:
This book was given to me by the author for an honest review.

For some reason, I imagine the guy having long hair and a beard not ugly beard but a short beard. It’s probably because of the movie When In Rome (Hilarious movie).

I like watching dance movies, like Step Up. So I don’t read a lot of books with dancers as main characters ‘cause it makes me want to see them dance which is impossible because well, it’s a book. :D I think that’s one of the problems I have. It’s like those books with songs on them.:)

I still enjoyed this book though. It was a light read, not much issue except for the one she had with her mother. I actually expected more trouble with her mother. I also expected her to get into lots of trouble, but it was explained in the book why she didn’t so I’m cool.

I kinda liked the best friend more than her. This actually happens a lot, I really like best friends.:D

The whole book is a good read. And I really like gelato.:D

Rating:
 4 GELATOS!!
( Don't know how to spell it, sorry.:D)

It looks sooo yummy!!! I'm gonna die!!
